This little garden was where the studio's experiment with naturalistic and designed plant communities began. Back in 2017 this little Cotswold cottage was the home of Digg & Co’s founder - Toby - and his partner Bella Lowes.
Together they ripped up the sprawling bulb beds and re-aligned the garden to create a set of large borders which were then sowed and planted with diverse native and European vegetation. The lawn became a dynamic experiment between restraint and chaos and in the shallow limey soils we managed to develop a very interesting experiment in growth habitats and plant combinations.
This little garden set the stage to continue experimenting with novel restoration and planting design techniques which the studio is still refining and experimenting with today. For a project directly inspired by this check out both Church Farm, Throat Farm and Camp Farm.
